Yates County Ag and Farmland Protection Board (AFPB)
The Yates County AFPB is an appointed body of the Yates County Legislature authorized by New York State Ag District Law (AML 25 AA) to oversee the administration of the state certified Ag District and promote the protection and enhancement of agriculture in the county. Yates County's Ag District includes over two-thirds of the land area (145,000 acres) and 5,376 parcels of land in the county in parts of all nine towns. The county has approximately 810 farms generating over $50 million per year in revenues.
