Executive Director, Barbara Boyer, to Retire in December
Barbara
Boyer, executive director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming
County, has announced her retirement effective at the end of this year.
Barb has served as the association's executive director since 1999. She
has also been the association's Family and Consumer Sciences Program Leader,
a position she has held since joining CCE in April of 1998.
Barb's accomplishments in her time with CCE are many. She established
a collaborative learning center with the Warsaw satellite of Genesee Community
College and the Batavia-Wyoming YMCA. She was a key facilitator of the
CCE-Wyoming strategic plan and a proponent of both improving their current
facility, and of a current effort to create options for a new CCE Center.
Barb has authored a biweekly column for the Batavia Daily News on Family
Matters, and won a state award and a national honorable mention for one
article. Statewide, she is currently chair of the ACCEE Professional Development
Committee.
Barb has been an energetic link between CCE and the Wyoming community.
She is on Board of Directors for the local Business Education Council,
an active member of the local Family Violence Task Force of Wyoming County,
and a United Way Cabinet member for the past four years. She also serves
on the Healthy Community Alliance Board of Directors for the Route 39
corridor. We wish Barb success and enjoyment in a well-earned retirement!
