Cornell University Cooperative Extension Sponsoring Two Regional Income Tax Schools in Western NY
Cornell University Cooperative Extension is sponsoring two Regional Farm and Small Business One-Day Income Tax Schools in WNY in December.
On December 7th the class will be held at The Hearth Restaurant, 12249 Olean Road, Chaffee and on Wednesday, December 8th at the Batavia Party House, 5762 Route 5, Stafford. Registration is at 7:45 AM and the class runs from 8:30 AM to 4:45PM.
The cost is $150 per person (if postmarked by Nov. 29, 2010). After that date the cost is $170 per person. Registration cost includes an updated reference book to be used throughout the tax season, lunch buffet and breaks.
Up to 8 CPE credits for Enrolled Agents and New York State CPAs are available to those who qualify.
The speakers will be Joseph A. Bennett, CPA, Sr. Extension Associate with leadership in income tax management at Cornell University and Anthony Bonarti, CPA, Bonarti & Winters CPAS, PLCC, Cortland, NY. Topics of discussion will include: New Legislation – HIRE Act, Affordable Care Act, Reconciliation Act, EJA and Jobs Act and other legislation. Business Issues will include Fringe Benefits and Single Member LLC Rules. IRS Issues will include Preparer Registration Mandate and Requirements. Individual Issues include Tax Benefit Rule, Higher Education Expenses, Basis of Assets (the step-up rule is limited for estate purposes in 2010). Other issues to be addressed include Farm, Oil and Gas Tax and Retirement Issues.
