Wyoming County Teens Attended 4-H Career Exploration Conference

Sixteen Wyoming County 4-H teens attended this year's 4-H Career Exploration Conference 2010 at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, June 29th - July 1st.

Our 4-H youth joined 516 other teens and adult chaperones from across the state for this three-day adventure on the Cornell campus. The fun-filled three days were a chance to learn about potential careers, check out college life, and develop leadership skills through one of several exciting programs. Career Explorations offers a program, called Focus for Teens, focused on the areas of interest for teens in 10-12 grade, and a less intense program, called University U, for teens entering 8 and 9th grade. Wyoming County teens participated in programs ranging from Professional Dairy Careers, Natural Resources (Forestry, Wildlife & Fish, and Veterinary Sciences to Human Development and Entrepreneurship.

Free time activities allowed our 4-H youth to meet teens from across the state and renew friendships.

Representing Wyoming County 4-H were: Xavier Almeter, Arcade; Cameron Cox, Wyoming; Kelly DeGroff , Castile; Nathan DeMario, South Wales; Jacob Dueppengiesser, Perry; Jared Dueppengiesser, Perry; Emily Calkins, Varysburg; Megan George, Strykersville; Karl Kunze, Wyoming; Sarah Kurzel, North Carolina; Stephanie Luders, Bliss; Tyler Perry, Strykersville; Emily Richards, Silver Springs; Chelsie Roberts, Castile; Abigail Zielinski, Arcade; and Lydia Zielinski, Arcade.
