Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming County Welcomes Debra Welch

We are pleased to announce that Debra Welch has joined our Agriculture Department as a Temporary Agriculture Program Educator. She will be assisting with data collection and processing as well as farm visits for the Dairy Farm Business Summaries. Debra is finding many parallels between the Dairy Farm Business Summaries and her 30 years experience in the realty/auction/appraisal business, gathering information, visiting farms and talking with farmers.

Debra is a graduate of Alfred Ag and Tech, and has worked for many years in her family’s agriculture related business, and states “I’ve always enjoyed the farm-related aspect of our family business.” She has been a licensed Real Estate Salesperson for many years, has served 6 years as a Wyoming County 4-H Leader, and was elected to and served a 5-year seat on the Wyoming Central school board.

“I’m glad to be joining the Cooperative Extension group, and would like to say that everyone on staff has been very welcoming and helpful. I’m sure that we will accomplish a great deal and I hope to be a valued member of the team.”

Debra resides in Wyoming on a family farm with her husband and two children, (former 4H club members). Her hobbies include family horse activities and gardening.

You are welcome to stop in and meet our newest educator. Debra’s hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
