Wyoming County 4-H Clothing Revue Results

May 2006 - The sewing machines have been humming!! Wyoming County 4-H held its annual clothing revue on Friday evening, May 5th at the Warsaw Central High School. This year's theme was "Go Wild With Fashion".

L to R: Meg DeMario, Wesley Cox, Jeanine Youngers, Jessica Shriver, Christina Keicher, Katherine Konvinse, Amanda Ciurzynski, and Sara Berkemeier

On April 26th and April 29th, eighty-three 4-H members had their sewing projects evaluated on all aspects of clothing construction including choice of fabric, sewing and finishing details, as well as fit in preparation for the revue. Sixty-six 4-H members participated in the evening's revue on May 5th, which featured a fashion show with garments modeled by those members who completed a clothing project. 4-H'ers modeled an array of garments including aprons, shorts, shirts, pants and pajamas. Participants also showed off handmade sweatshirts, ponchos, jackets, skirts and a variety of dresses on stage before an audience which included this year's celebrity judges - Helen Davis, owner of LaRue's Bridal, Inc. in Arcade and Michelle Milligan of Pavilion, co-owner of The Wedding Dress and Tux Shop in Geneseo.

The 4-H'ers had a chance to model on stage while being evaluated on fit, poise, posture and style of the item they had sewn.

The following 4-H'ers were chosen to represent Wyoming County at the State Fair Clothing Revue in Syracuse in August: Sara Berkemeier, Wyoming; Amanda Ciurzynski, Attica; Christina Keicher, Attica; Katherine Konvinse, Gainesville; Jessica Shriver, East Aurora; Jeanine Youngers, Arcade; along with alternates: Wesley Cox, Perry and Meg DeMario, South Wales.

The Western District 4-H Clothing Revue will be hosted by Wyoming County and held this year at the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park on Friday, July 7th.
