9th ANNUAL SARATOGA COUNTY FIBER TOUR!
Come "Take a Ride & Share Our Pride" for the 9th Annual Saratoga County Fiber Tour October 11 & 12, (Columbus Day Weekend), from 11am - 4pm. This free, drive-it- yourself farm tour features five of Saratoga County's "Pride of New York" fiber producing farms and is considered one of the highlights of the fall season in the Capital District. Showcasing some of the area’s most outstanding farms, the 9th annual fiber tour features llamas, alpacas, and sheep. Activities include lead a llama, leaping llamas, grooming, ownership opportunities, and information on fiber producing animals. Carding, spinning, felting, and dying demonstrations are some of the ongoing activities each day. Take a stroll and shop at the farm store and at any of the fiber farms' product displays. Hands on experiences with the llamas, alpacas, and sheep is encouraged. And it’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas shopping! You’ll find a wide variety of roving, yarns, and unique fiber products for special holiday gifts. Lucky visitors will also have a chance to win individually donated farm prizes including a plush llama doll, Alpaca gloves, hand-dyed wool yarn, ruffle wool scarf, handcrafted jewelry, homemade soap, and day lilies!
