

The
Eat Smart New York (ESNY) program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of
Warren County helps families and individuals make healthy food and nutrition
choices. Through this program, participants learn to:
• Prepare
quick and nutritious meals that fit into their
budget
• Store and serve food safely;
• Manage the food budget and related resources, such as food
stamps;
• Include physical activity everyday;
• Meet the changing nutritional needs of the participant and
his/her family throughout life.
Eat
Smart New York is available to any Warren County resident who receives
or has applied for food stamps, has a child in Head Start, is receiving
WIC services, or is receiving Medicaid or SSI.
Participants meet individually or in small groups with a nutrition program
educator at the participant’s convenience and at various locations
throughout Warren County. Sessions and topics for discussion are based
on the interests and needs of each participant.
