Garden enthusiasts will delight as they embark on a two-hour walking tour of the formal flower gardens, annual and perennial beds, and

greenhouse. Guided by a Master Gardener or a member of Mohonk’s landscape and garden staff, you’ll receive information about how

to grow, care for and manage pests in these types of plantings. Enjoy the splendorous beauty of Mohonk’s gardens while gaining insight

into how they are created and maintained.

The buffet lunch served at 12:00 noon in the West Dining Room features guest speaker, Kerry Mendez, a garden consultant, designer, writer, teacher and lecturer, she focuses on time-saving gardening techniques and workhorse plant material as well as organic practices.

She has also been a featured guest on HGTV with Paul Tukey from People, Places & Plants and was the 2004-2005 perennial host for Capital News 9’s In The Garden television segment. Mendez writes garden columns for Life@Home (inaugural issue February 2008, produced by the Times Union), The Chronicle, and Saratoga Today as well as freelance pieces for regional and national magazines. Mendez is a member of the Perennial Plant Association, national Garden Writers Association, and a federated garden club.

The fee is $55.00 per person. Space is limited to 150 people.
