At the end of Howard Road, a driveway to the north leads into a tree farm that is laced with a network of broad, grassy trails.  Since the tree farm sign down the road included "recreation" as one of its stated purposes, I assume this area is open to the public.  Walking in this area is not at all like strolling through a Christmas tree farm.  There are a variety of tall trees (which are not in little rows) and a looping network of trails.  Howard Road is accessible from Durfee Hill Road, which in turn can be reached from Nelson Road or Route 96B in the Town of Danby.
