My
favorite trail is the Wilderness loop located at the Cayuga Nature
Center. While all of their trails are great and provide a welcome
respite, this trail allows one to get the feel of a wilderness experience.
The trail is a bit rough but manageable for most all sorts of walkers
(this trail is not one of the wheelchair accessible trails at the
center though.) I suggest bringing along a sketch book, camera,
or something similar for some quiet reflection along the way. |

| Why do you think this walk or trail is special and why would others also enjoy it? | |
| As noted above, this trail is unique among many of the local trails as it does truly give the walker the opportunity to get a wilderness sensation, without having to travel to the north country. Even though it is only about 6 miles north of ithaca, the remoteness felt along the trail takes the walker to a very different place. | |
