Abbot
Loop is an approximately 7 mile moderately strenuous hike through
the forest up and down hills and has a great view at Thatcher's
pinnacles. It is located in the Danby State Forest. |

If you want to be one with nature, Abbot trail is a great place to do it. We have rarely come across another hiker there. The view at the pinnacles is great (see:http://ludlow.dns2go.com/cribbage/areas/dsf/needles.html) and if you go in the spring or summer, there are beautiful wildflowers to enjoy. Our family has counted more than 100 red efts on one trip. It's also a great place to enjoy songbirds. |
