VonEngeln Nature Preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy is a beautiful place to hike. |
|
| Why do you think this walk or trail is special and why would others also enjoy it? | |
The three best seasons to hike there are Spring, Fall and Winter. Fall is very nice, because it feels like you are walking through a landscape that Vincent van Gogh would paint. Winter is beautiful also, with the chickadee’s song floating like a leaf on a sluggish winter stream, through the woods. Spring rejuvenates the woods and the birds rejoice. Von Englin is also very easy to ski. There are some ups and downs and places where it can get muddy. But it is very worth it to see all the flora and fauna. There are ferns, rosehips, and countless other including many kinds of trees. They even have pitcher plants! Then there are many kinds of animals but you catch glimpses of them. I once saw a big snapping turtle!! So as I said before, it is an amazing place to hike, and I hope that you will love it as much as I do! |
