South Hill Recreation Way
Submitted by: Adam Michaelides
Category/Audience: Scenic-Historic
Best for: Walking-Hiking

Describe location/distance/terrain:
It's the trail that branches off the South Hill Recreation Way at the bend at the bottom of the steep hill (the only one) - take that trail, make slight left up another hill - at the top of the hill, don't take the one that goes down to the reservoir, but rather take the other direction where the trail follows the crest above the reservoir. Great views - especially in winter - nice and bright with snow cover, even at night. If the snow is deep, snowshoe. Otherwise, hike. Trail loops around to the rec trail.

Why do you think this walk or trail is special and why would others also enjoy it?
It's WILD, scenic and only a few miles from the city.
