Abbott Loop and Danby State Forest

The Abbott Loop is a roughly seven mile trail through the Danby State Forest.  The trail goes up and down several steep hills, and visits Thatcher's Pinnacles at the west end of the loop.  From the Pinnacles you get a great view west over the Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve.  The Abbott Loop is accessible from Bald Hill Road (rough, seasonal), Michigan Hollow Road (smooth gravel), and Hill Road (rough, seasonal).  These roads can be reached by turning south from Route 96B near Danby (see road map below).
