What is Rural Youth Services?
Rural Youth Services is a collaborative program offering educational youth development opportunities. Programs are offered after-school, in-school, evenings and weekends year round in municipalities in Tompkins County

What are Rural Youth Services programs?
The youth development Program Manager(s) in your town plan a variety of programs designed to provide opportunities for youth to learn life skills, develop relationships with other youth and with adults, and contribute through community service, in a supported comfortable environment.  Please contact your Program Manager for a list of current programs. 

Where are Rural Youth Services programs held?
In most communities, Rural Youth Service programs are held in the schools or other community facilities. Some programs include trips. Registration brochures will indicate times and locations of programs, and details of trips if included.

Who may attend Rural Youth Services programs?
Programs are offered for various age groups, with most available for middle school age. Brochures will indicate the age group for which each program is planned.

How can youth register for Rural Youth Services programs?
Families should contact their local Program Manager or the Rural Youth Services Coordinator for details on current programs in their town. Program Managers will provide families with brochures and permission slips for registration.

What do Rural Youth Service programs cost?
Most programs are offered free of charge. Some special offerings have a suggested contribution amount. No child will ever be turned away because of inability to pay.

Contact the Program Manager (or click on Program Manager for a list) listed for your town for current program offerings or for more information. You may also call the Rural Youth Services Coordinator for information.
