TOMPKINS COUNTY
FARM CITY DAY

PURPOSE

Farm City Day is an educational event which invites the public to get a firsthand look at how a dairy and other farms operate. Farm City Day provides an opportunity to explore the interdependence of farming, the business community, land use, food production and our environment. The goals of the event are to raise awareness about agriculture and to raise funds for the Agriculture in the Classroom program in local schools.

Farm City Day is sponsored by the Tompkins County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board. Financial support is provided through donations from agricultural and other local businesses and organizations.

Coordinating support is provided by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County. The success of this event is dependent upon many volunteers. Special thanks goes to the Host Farm families and their friends who made this event possible.
