Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County

Working Title: Financial Management Education Program Manager

Classification Title: Extension Community Educator

Office Location: 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca, NY 14850

Supervisor’s Classification: Team Coordinator

General Responsibilities:
As a member of the Consumer & Financial Management Education Team, the Program Manager will be responsible for the implementation, management, documentation, and evaluation of several Financial Management Education Program efforts with a focus on personal money management knowledge and skills reaching a diverse adult population. These efforts include One-on-One Financial Management Education Program and Workshops supporting EmPower New York, Money Work$ curriculum, as well as other workshops, presentations, and educational delivery strategies developed as programming efforts continue to grow to meet new needs and opportunities. The purpose of these programming efforts is to provide opportunities for individuals and households to increase their personal money management skills and to foster sustainable behavior changes that will increase participant’s financial security. The Program Manager also manages a team of volunteers who assist in the implementation of the One-on-One Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Implementation of One-on-One Financial Management Education Program (40%)

Implementation of Financial Management Education Workshops/Presentations (50%)

Program Development and Support (10%)

Ensure program outreach to diverse audiences, appreciate and embrace diversity in all interactions with program participants, staff, volunteers and the public in the spirit of CCE-Tompkins’ Diversity Statement.

Reporting Relationships:

Program Manager receives direct administrative and functional supervision from and will report directly to the Consumer & Financial Management Education Program Team Coordinator. She/he is expected to implement the agreed upon program effort as a member of the Consumer & Financial Management Education Team. Duties will be performed within general policies and guidelines of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County.

CCETC personnel policies designate a twelve-month orientation period with close supervision and support after which s/he is expected to work more independently but will continue to receive the ongoing support and supervision of the Consumer & Financial Management Education Program Team Coordinator.
