IN ADVANCE
Contact school teachers to determine the level of knowledge the students have about your subject area.

Prepare a well thought out, interactive lesson which includes how you will involve students and teachers.

Visit the site in advance. Try to connect with others at your site if you need transportation.

Prepare an adapted lesson which you can use in case of inclement weather.

Attend EAD's 2-hour orientation (pizza, drinks and desserts will be provided).

THAT DAY
Bring needed instructional materials and this instructor packet.

Day's format:

8:30 - 8:45 a.m. instructors arrive at site
  9:10 - 9:20 a.m. students arrive
  9:30 - 10:20 a.m. first lesson
  10:20 - 10:30 a.m. rotate
  10:30 - 11:20 a.m. second lesson
  11:30 - 12:00 noon lunch break
  12:00 - 12:50 p.m. last lesson
  12:50 - 1:00 p.m. evaluation
  1:00 - 1:15 p.m. students return to school

Review the key points at the end of each lesson.

After your last lesson, instruct participating teachers to complete the evaluation form given to them at the beginning of the day by the site coordinator. They should return it to the site coordinator. If they give it to you instead, please give it to the site coordinator.

If you are interested in reading the students' evaluations of your lesson, speak to the site coordinator.

Before leaving, make sure there is no litter around your area. You will need to carry away any trash or give it to the site coordinator for disposal.

Complete and turn in the evaluation form to the site coordinator. If you are teaching more than one day, please turn it in after your last day.

If you have any questions or need help, contact your site coordinator or Megan Tifft at 272-2292 or met38@cornell.edu.
