The Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance
Thursday, July 20 - Sunday, July 23

Trumansburg Fairgrounds

This year, the Grassroots Compost Crew:

* diverted 6,630 lbs of food scraps from the landfill (that's ~330 5-gallon buckets!)
* lasagna layered the food scraps with straw in 21 welded wire cylinder bins
* cellebrated the 11th year in a row of composting at the festival
* collected pre-consumer scraps from ~20 food vendors
* monitored ~20 post-consumer food scrap pails on-site
* talked with roughly 300 people at our compost education booth
* expanded the first Grassroots' garden bed at off-site
* had good fun, enjoyed and contributed to an amazing festival

Many many thanks to the 27 member composting crew and 5 Master Composter co-coordinators who made it all happen. If you attended the Grassroots Festival and have comments about our composting efforts, CLICK HERE to send the "Rotline" a note. In the near future we will gather to debrief and wrap things up for this year. Your feedback is much appreciated!
