Matching Grants
These grants were awarded in spring 2004 and will be completed by spring 2005.
Village of Dryden

Before: The village has a number of cast-iron planters that match the new benches on the main streets of Dryden
After: Colorful annuals fill all the planters on Main and North Streets.
Town of Dryden

Before: The entrance to B&B Farms and the Fast Track Convenience store on Rt. 13
After: Colorful annuals planted in a stone planter around a tree, and the whiskey barrels will also be planted.
Town of Dryden
Before: The entrance to the Dryden Central School on Rt. 38
After: Students in the Dryden after-school program planted spring bulbs in two areas in front of the school. (In the photo above, the bulb foliage is visible in the grass around the sign, but the flowers are not yet open.)
Town of Dryden

Before: Treeforms, at the intersection of Rt. 13 and 366
After: A colorful garden planted between the building and Rt. 366
Enfield
Before: The Enfield Community Center on Rt. 327

After: Students in the Enfield after-school program will plant window boxes and a flower garden near the entrance

Groton
Before: The plantings at each entrance to the village of Groton were in need of renovation
After: The
students in the Groton after-school program pruned and weeded the plantings
and added annual flowers and spring bulbs.
Jacksonville

Before: The bus shelter is going to be moved to this new site on Rt. 96 for safety reasons
After: The new bus shelter with a landscape planting of shrubs and trees around it.
Newfield
Before: The park near the historic covered bridge on Main Street
After: Gardens and planters in various locations in the park around the covered bridge
Trumansburg

Before: The North Point pavilion at Taughannock State Park was not landscaped
After: A garden was planted with native perennials and shrubs in memory of local resident Show-Chi Wang
Town of Danby

Before: The entrance to West Danby, with spring daffodils in bloom

After: Two welcome signs were installed, one at each entrance to the hamlet.
