Jim and Barr's Garden

383 Snyder Hill Road, Ithaca

Jim and Barr's Garden   Jim and Barr's Garden

Jim and Barr's Garden    Jim and Barr's Garden

This private but sunny residential garden has evolved continuously over more than twenty-five years. A combination of aesthetics and practicality, it features ornamental borders and beds of perennials and hardy annual flowers, as well as a highly productive vegetable garden. Garden pools with water lilies, frogs and fish provide added interest. A statuary collection extends the season of interest from early spring through late fall. While providing a kaleidoscopic visual display, this garden unifies the surrounding architecture and serves as great-room, playground and sanctuary.

Directions: From downtown Ithaca, take Route 79 east to Pine Tree Road (marked by a flashing amber light). Turn left onto Pine Tree road and proceed to Snyder Hill Road on the right. Jim and Barr's garden is about 1.5 miles from Pine Tree Road, on the right. Follow the house numbers to #383. Park on street.

Proceeds from this garden will be shared with the Tompkins County Community Beautification Program.
