Matching Grants
These grants were awarded in spring 2005 and will be completed by spring 2006.
Town of Caroline
Before: Fountain Manor, a senior housing facility in Caroline, will have a new garden of shrubs, perennials and annuals around the fountain in front of the building. The historic fountain will also be repainted.
After: The fountain was painted, and perennials, annuals and small shrubs were planted around it.
Town of Danby
CNY Book Auctions will build a planter around the sign, and fill it with flowering plants.
Town of Groton
There are two bridges in the village of Groton, and both bridges will have planter boxes attached to the railings.
After: The boxes were painted with Groton's colors and planted with colorful annuals
Town of Ithaca
Before: The hedge in front of the Ithaca Town Hall was high maintenance and not very showy. The hedge was removed, and flowering shrubs and perennials planted in the garden space in front of the town hall.
After: Flowering trees, perennials and colorful annuals replace the hedge that was removed.
Town of Lansing
Before: The Lansing Town Library.
After: An Eagle Scout created an outdoor reading area next to the library building. The reading area features benches and a picnic table, and landscape plantings surround the gravel walkway and circular reading area.

Before: The road to Myers Point was widened several years ago and trees next to the road were removed .
After: A row of evergreen trees planted next to the road will fill in this area as they grow in future years.

Before: The new town records building in Lansing will need landscaping when it is completed. A landscape of native and heirloom plants will be added to complement the historic style of the building.

Before:The landscaping at the Trumansburg village hall was in need of renewal.
After: A tree that was removed was replaced with a smoke bush, and a new landscape of shrubs and ornamental grasses was added near the rear entrance.

Before: New benches will be added to either side of the entrance to the Ulysses Town Hall.
After: New benches and urns filled with flowers provide a place to sit in front of the town hall.
