4-H ENVIRONMENTAL APPRECIATION DAYS

Calling Volunteers...

Last year 1,244 Tompkins County school children participated in exciting environmental adventures during this special 4-H program. Volunteer instructors led these 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students in "hands-on" lessons about the natural world.

WHO - Adult/Teen Leaders knowledgeable in an area of natural resources and/or environmental awareness.

WHAT - Commit to attending one organizational meeting and prepare a 50 minute lesson. Teach that lesson 3 times on one, two or three days.

WHEN - Beginning of May. Call for specific days.

WHERE - 4-H Acres is one of 10 different sites that will host programs this spring.

WHY - To encourage youth to open their senses, expand their observations and explore the natural world in new ways using hands-on experiences.
