FINANCIAL EDUCATION
The Financial Education program’s mission is to offer management skills for personal finances through education, to residents of Sullivan County. The program focuses on management of personal budgets, while offering technical assistance in addressing consumer related issues.
The program's goal is to engage people of all income levels to set personal financial goals and establish a savings. The program assists clients by providing necessary research and background skills that can begin the problem solving process. To further improve this relationship community educators begin to explore individual areas of needs for clients while providing a link to local resources. This comprehensive approach to programming assists clients in developing and achieving personal financial goals that can either educate the consumer, create a savings in the family budget or provide “Financial Security in Later Life”. The Financial Education Program is part of the Family and Consumer Science program.
