The Learning Barn

Our Learning Barn is on the road! It is currently spending the rest of the school year in the William Floyd School District. A ribbon cutting was held at the first annual Ag Literacy Day Celebration and now the barn is beginning its journey throughout Suffolk County.

This resource is a large portable bookcase that is designed to travel to schools throughout Suffolk County. Abundant in literature, hands-on activities and discovery bags, its content is meant to blend agricultural and environmental awareness with the New York State curriculum. The books are resources that are chosen to appeal to a variety of reading levels-from picture books to chapter books youth are encouraged to read and explore.

It is designed to travel to a school for a week or two and be available to students and teachers. If you are interested in having the learning barn come to your school contact, 631-852-4602, vjf4@cornell.edu.
