Thank you for your interest in our program. Your interest connects you to the movement that is growing nationally which re-examines the ways in which services are delivered to families. The FDC Program will help workers move towards empowering the families they work with and to help the families they serve to become self sufficient. We are committed to making the FDC Training in Suffolk County an energizing and worthwhile experience.

Enclosed is an application to enroll in the Family Development Training and Credentialing Program. Please take some time to reflect on the questions and return the application containing your thoughtful responses by July 31, 2007 to:

The 90 hour FDC training in Suffolk County will begin September 18, 2007. Sessions will be held twice a month, in six hour classes, from 10:00 AM till 4 PM on Tuesdays. Training participants must plan on attending all sessions in order to meet the requirements of the credential.

This training will utilize the Empowerment Skills for Family Workers curriculum, which focuses on developing skills and competencies in 10 key areas of family development. Participants and their agencies should understand that this training will require a serious commitment of energy and time. In addition to the 90 hours in training sessions, we anticipate that it will require an equal amount of time spent in reading, skills practice and application and reflection outside of training sessions to truly synthesize this experience.

Selection of participants will be decided within 30 days. Tuition for this training is $850.00. The Credential Fee of $250.00 will be due at the time of the Exam. We are enclosing an application for scholarship tuition assistance should you need it. Tuition scholarships are for training only, and not towards the Credential Fee. Scholarship funds are limited. Funds will be awarded based on the information provided by you on the scholarship form.
