    Compost/Organics Recyclingscr

What is Composting?

Compost is simply decomposed organic materials. Composting, or organics recycling, is the breaking down of food and yard waste into a valuable soil amendment.   It can be as simple as a pile of leaves left to rot in the back corner of the yard to a pile of carbon-rich and nitrogen-rich materials layered in a collection container and regularly turned until all items are completely decomposed.   Vermicomposting, or composting with red wiggler worms, has garnered much interest in the past few years and is an easy and fun way to turn kitchen waste into a garden treasure.
