Volunteer!

The Master Composter Recycler Program is a community education program to raise awareness about resource conservation through composting and recycling. Participants receive 20 hours of training in waste reduction, reuse, recycling and “re-buying”; hazardous waste recycling; backyard composting; vermicomposting; yard waste recycling; and public speaking.

Master Composter Recyclers (MCRs) share their knowledge with others by volunteering for 20 hours of public outreach over the next two years. Through presentations and demonstrations in neighborhoods, workplaces, special events and other venues, MCRs help the larger Schenectady County community to learn sound resource conservation practices.
