Grapes

The Finger Lakes grape industry is unique in the diversity of grapes and wine produced here, and in its interesting history. Over 30 varieties of grapes are grown on 10,000 acres. The industry has experienced significant growth, due in part to increases in the Finger Lakes Wine business.

Ontario County grape producers are served through the Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Finger Lakes Grape Program. Since its inception in the 1960's the program has provided education and technical assistance to support increased profitability and sustainability of grape production in the Finger Lakes.
