Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County offers quality nutrition, food safety and financial management programs, resources and information to help consumers make informed diet and food safety-related decisions. Our educators provide individuals, families, business and community organizations with research-based programs and information to develop the skills and find solutions to make informed food, health and safety related choices.

Healthy Foods = Healthier Children & Communities: Serve Healthy Foods Workshop into Action!

A FREE Workshop for Human Service Agency Staff: To be offered this fall -- for more information contact Kathy Dischner at kmd13@cornell.edu

Teams of staff and educators are encouraged to attend. Program will be held at the Rosamund Gifford Room 518 James Street, 1st Floor Syracuse, NY 13203. The program is sponsored by: Coalition of Concerned Community Partners, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County, REACH CNY, & Food Bank of CNY. The workshop will address the following topics:
  • The Obesity Epidemic: Current situation and how you can make a difference

  • Assessing Your Needs: Rate your current menus and foods

  • Strategies and “Best Practices That Work”: Resources and ideas for tasty, healthy, affordable foods, recipes and menus

  • Developing an Action Plan: Build healthier foods into your own programs and services
