Communitree Stewards
CommuniTree Stewards are volunteers trained to plant and care for community forests in Onondaga County. Volunteers receive 12 - 15 hours of training and hands-on instruction in tree biology, planting, pruning, follow-up care, species identification and common tree problems.
Since 2002, 116 stewards have given over 2400 hours of volunteer service pruning, mulching, and watering more than 1650 trees and planting 475 trees on parks & in neighborhoods throughout Onondaga County.
