Nutrition/ Health/ Wellness...Improving the health of Nassau consumers
* Classes for limited-income families and individuals
* Food and nutriton programs for parent groups
* School programs focusing on health and wellness
* Programs for adult audiences
Environmental Horticulture...Maintaining a healthy environment for Nassau residents
* Home gardening, landscape, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and water conservaton education
* Reduction of pesticide use; using environmentally safe pest controls and IPM programs for horticulture industry
* Gardening Helpline - Monday-Thursday, 10am to 12:30pm
* Walk-in plant questions can be brought to the greenhouse at Eisenhower Park Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm
Parent Education...Strengthening parenting and child care skills
* Effective parenting workshop - discipline, play, low-cost activities; training programs for child care providers
* Talking with Kids about HIV/AIDS
4-H Youth Development...Developing the skills of Nassau youngsters
* 4-H summer sleep-away camp for boys and girls grades 4-10
* Environmental 4-H youth development camp programs during the school year
* After-school and summer 4-H community programs in the Town of Hempstead
* 4-H Community Clubs teaching leadership, 4-H programs, public presentation skills and community service
* School programs focusing on science and technology
