A little about our County...
Franklin County is a rich mixture of contrasting landscapes, from the open farmlands of the St. Lawrence River valley in the north, to the rugged terrain of the Adirondack Mountains in the south. Located in the Northeast portion of New York State, the county is rural in nature with a population of 48,500. Malone, which is located approximately 12 miles from the Canadian border, is the county seat with a population of 6,075. The next largest population centers are in the southern-most end of the county with Tupper Lake at 3,935 residents and Saranac Lake with 3,732.
