Meat Yield Calculator
University of Vermont has a great resource for those who are direct marketing their livestock products and trying to figure out the final retail yield you would get from a live animal. The yield calculator is good for your beef, sheep, and hogs using an Excel spreadsheet. You will need the animal's live weight (or an estimate of it), the dressing percentage, and cutting yield. The spreadsheet has some default values, but you can refine them using the information in the article Did the Locker Plant Steal Some of My Meat?.
Click on Meat Yield Calculator to go to the University of Vermont Website to download the calculator.
