EatSmart NY / Nutrition Classes

Eat Smart New York! (ESNY) in Chemung County provides free, fun, hands-on, cooking classes to help individuals and families with limited resources become more independent and self-sufficient. Complete all 6 classes and receive useful gifts and a certificate that can go on your résumé!

If you use or are eligible for an EBT card to buy food, are receiving WIC, have a child in Head Start, are on Medicaid, or receive public assistance, these cooking classes are for you!

• Looking for ways to save money on your grocery bills? The “Eating Right when Money’s Tight” class series will help you save money while feeding your family delicious meals. Class members will have fun, food, and prizes while preparing the recipes! Classes are on-going. Registration is required; call 734-4453.
   
• Food, Fun and Friends: Mothers of young children have the opportunity to cook together and visit. You will receive information on staying healthy and feeding your children. The 6 meetings are in the Human Resources Building, CCE Office, Room 110, 425 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. Classes start April 19 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. For directions and to register call 734-4453.
