  • Spring Classes at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden
    Choose one topic:
    • Topic 1 Organic Gardening and Weeds: How to get Rid of Them
    • Topic 2 Making a Twig Arbor
    Where: Demonstration Garden at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, corner Westinghouse Road and Gardner Road, Horseheads, NY
    When: May 6, 10 AM to 12 PM, rain or shine
    Cost: $5 per person

  • Big Flats Community Center Gardening Education with Cornell Extension Master Gardeners
    Sessions are on Thursdays and begin at 6:30 PM
    • May 11
      Container gardening continues its popularity. The design of a planter or window box is a marriage of similar plants into a cohesive arrangement. Join Master Gardener Eileen Patocka for tips for fertilizing and keeping the plants looking good throughout the season.
    • June 8
      Many of us have physical challenges that impede our gardening activity. You may know of someone with a greater disability than your own. Techniques for adapting tools for those with disabilities will be demonstrated. Gardening styles that are friendlier will be shared.
