Afterschool
Programs
The purpose of the AfterSchool Program is to provide an extended school day program with a variety of enrichment activities designed to address the social, emotional, educational, recreational, and academic needs of middle school students. Activities vary and include homework assistance, computer classes, swimming, conflict and mediation classes, dance classes, recreation, arts & crafts, gardening, and a host of others.
This is a FREE program through Cornell Cooperative Extension in a partnership
with the Spencer-Van Etten School District. Students will arrive directly from school and stay for parent pick-up before closing time. The late bus will run M, W, F at 5 pm and T, TH at 4 PM. This program begins the first day of school. Student may enroll even if they are already attending other after school functions (such as sports), as they may come and go from the program as needed by signing in and out to go to acceptable locations within the building or from Spencer by the late bus. The main priority of this program is to provide a safe, educational and fun place for students after school offering a wide array of diverse learning experiences.
