Afterschool Programs

The purpose of the AfterSchool Program is to provide an extended school day program with a variety of enrichment activities designed to address the social, emotional, educational, recreational, and academic needs of middle school students. Activities vary and include homework assistance, computer classes, swimming, conflict and mediation classes, dance classes, recreation, arts & crafts, gardening, and a host of others.

Crossroads Advantage After School Program

Have you been looking for a fun & safe place for your
2nd – 8th grade student to be after school
while you finish work? The Crossroads Advantage After School Program has the answer for you!

This is a FREE program through Cornell Cooperative Extension in a partnership with the Spencer-Van Etten School District.
It will run 5 days a week from:
2 PM - 5 PM for students in grades 2 to 4, and
3 PM - 6 PM for students in grades 5 to 8.

Students will arrive directly from school and stay for parent pick-up before closing time. The late bus will run M, W, F at 5 pm and T, TH at 4 PM.

This program begins the first day of school.
Grades 2-4 will be at the Spencer Van Etten Elementary School with its central location in the cafeteria.
Grades 5-8 will be at the Spencer Van Etten High School with its central location downstairs in the cafeteria.

Student may enroll even if they are already attending other after school functions (such as sports), as they may come and go from the program as needed by signing in and out to go to acceptable locations within the building or from Spencer by the late bus.

The main priority of this program is to provide a safe, educational and fun place for students after school offering a wide array of diverse learning experiences.
