Good Choices Presentation - 7-8 P.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2008
Cayuga County Cornell Cooperative Extension is hosting a presentation titled "Good Choices" given by Darlene Tallman, 7-8 P.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in the auditorium on the lower level at 248 Grant Avenue, Auburn, NY. Dar works within the Independent Livings Skills Program funded by Cayuga County Health & Human Service Agency.
Douglas and Darlene Tallman are parents who lost their son and experienced a horrific violent act of homicide. Darlene's presentation will stress the importance that today, unfortunately, many young children make harmful choices in regards to drugs and violence that ultimately not only affect them, but their family, friends and community.
Cornell
Cooperative Extension and Independent Living Skills invites young people from
families and local human service agencies, ages 12 and above, to attend this
session. Because of the traumatic nature of the subject matter, it is important
that your family and/or agency have someone available with all youth that evening
to discuss and to follow-up on the messages given by the presenter.
In support of this endeavor, your agency can offer a free will donation made
payable to: "Parents of Murdered Children, Inc.". This national organization,
Parents of Murdered Children, Inc.® provides support and assistance to all
survivors of homicide victims while working to create a world free of murder.
Darlene will gladly forward your donation to the organization for the intended
use of sending another parent from this county to the annual conference that
is held for impacted parents.
Please call Jeannie at 1-315-255-1183 by October 14, 2008 to reserve the number
of seats your family or agency will need.
