Start a Dairy Project:

Have you ever thought of a Dairy Project? There are numerous opportunities tp participate in a dairy project in Allegany County. Even if you don't live on a dairy farm. there are many ways to experience fitting and showing a dairy animal for the county fair. Several dairy farms are willing to loan animals to qualified 4-Her's as dairy projects. The 4-H Dairy Lease Program allows youth the opportunity to use animals they do not own as a project for the fair. Allegany County 4-H offers information and guidance on working with a dairy project. We hold a fitting and showmanship clinic which helps you in preparing for the fair and other 4-H'ers are available to answer questions and give you hands on instructions. If you are interested and would like more information please call the belmont office 585-268-7644 ext. 26. Working with a dairy animal is an experience you will remember for a life time.
