trained volunteers help individuals with money management, building spending and savings plans and using credit. Programs on savings, retirement, wise use of credit, budgeting and managing between jobs are provided.

Family Budget Education Program: If you constantly find yourself struggling to cover your monthly expenses, this individualized one-on-one program may help. Meet four to six times over several months to set goals, improve communication about finances, get your records organized, learn more about credit and savings, and work out a spending plan that meets your needs.

Your Credit Report: Learn how to obtain, understand, and use the information kept on file by the three major credit bureaus. One or two individual sessions, or a workshop for a small group.

First Time Homebuyer: Be prepared before house hunting. Learn how to work with a realtor, get your credit in shape, types of mortgage financing, why you need a home inspection, what other home ownership expenses to plan for, and more.

Money Smart: Comprehensive adult education program covering banking, savings, credit, available as a home study course on computer cd.

Money Works: Six session program suitable for small groups includes banking, credit unions, insurance basics, borrowing and savings. Can be customized to suit individual needs.

Identity Theft: Learn ways to protect yourself and your assets, and action to take if you think you are a victim.

Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate? A family-focused educational program offering consideration for transfer of personal property.

Just for teens:

The Roadmap to Good Credit: Establishing credit and using it responsibly is an important milestone on your journey through life. What you don’t know can hurt you. Learn the facts and avoid the pitfalls with this 2 hour program. Grades 10-12

Passport to the World of Work: Whether you are looking for your first job or a better job, the skills taught in this 2 hour program can help you to be prepared. You’ll be surprised to learn what employers are really looking for. Grades 8-10
Financial Champions Do I really need this new CD? Can I afford it? Do I only want this CD because I saw an ad? This curriculum will help youth become financial champions and be able to answer these questions. Youth will discover the difference between needs and wants, money personalities and values, goal-setting, communication, ways to use and save money, the benefits and drawbacks of credit, advertising influences, consumer decision making and how to select financial services. Youth can complete the activities in the two youth guides independently. Grades 7-9.
