Heat and Humidity
The extreme heat and humidity that has engulfed NYS over the weekend is due to continue for a few more days. NY Alert has issued heat advisories in some parts of the state (Albany, Saratoga, Rennselaer and Schenectady Counties, NYC and Long Island), however we all are subject to heat stress and heat illnesses. Salmonellosis Outbreak in Tomatoes

The FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) offers guidelines for safe handling of raw produce and fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. This is a very colorful, easy to read brochure and can be downloaded in pdf for duplication.
