Long-Term
Care Insurance Education & Outreach Program
(LTCIEOP)
Seneca County Office for the Aging
Lots of people are talking about long term care.
You may be wondering, “What are my options for paying for long term care?” Long term care insurance is one option to consider when deciding how you will pay for future long term care needs. NYS launched a new long-term care insurance website at
as part of a comprehensive outreach campaign that included television, radio, and print media advertising to highlight the benefits of long-term care insurance among New Yorkers. This campaign is one venue of the NYS Long Term Care Insurance Education and Outreach Program (LTCIEOP).
Seneca County Office for the Aging is part of the NYS Long Term Care Insurance Education and Outreach Program (LTCIEOP).
They have partnered with Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) which has a team of specially trained staff that are available to provide unbiased resources about long term care insurance under the NYS Long Term Care Insurance Education and Outreach Program (LTCIEOP). There will be absolutely no sales pitches for long term care insurance. The Community Educator’s only goal is to help you become a smart consumer.
Long term care insurance can help protect older adults and their families from the financial hardships of nursing home care or long term illness.
But it is not the right decision for everyone.
Not sure what you should do?
Seneca County Office for the Aging along with Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension can help you make the right choice.
When it comes time to think about long term care insurance, call the LTCIEOP Resource Center to request a public workshop and/or access available resources. The Long-Term Care Insurance Education Outreach Program (LTCIEOP) was established for the purpose of informing and educating the general public about long-term care insurance, including those policies that are available through the New York State Partnership for Long Term Care (www.nyspltc.org). This program was established by the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health (www.nyhealth.gov), in consultation with the Director of the New York State Office of the Aging (www.aging.ny.gov) and the Superintendent of the Department of Insurance (www.ins.state.ny.us).
