Agriculture

Agricultural programs address the overall goals of the Otsego County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan, which serves to ensure that Otsego County remains home to viable agriculture in the future. Educators assist farms to remain viable and profitable businesses by providing comprehensive, research-based information in animal and natural resource husbandry, business planning and marketing, diversified farm products, and technical and financial support opportunities.

Fuel Cost Estimator - Spreadsheet tool for calculating fuel cost

As farmers acquire land farther from the farm, the question of fuel use comes up. Does the cost of fuel make it economical to travel to distant fields? Using this calculator, you can type in your own variables (such as distance traveled, road speed, and diesel price) and get an estimate of fuel cost. This is a new, recently developed tool through CCE Lewis County.
